Located in Layton, New Jersey (41.136803, -74.889053). I would say it is off the beaten path but that would be an understatement. Take the Mountain Road entrance at the cemetary. This is the intersection of Main Street (which runs through Walpack Village) and Mountain Road. Road is rough in several spots from jaw-jarring potholes to bomb crater size holes. You can also get to the falls from the other side of Mountain Road from Sandyston-Flatbrookville Road. I would say the bridge and road using this route is incredibly bad.

At the time of this writing, the falls entrance is closed for the winter. I believe it reopens in April. I have visited the falls in spring, summer and fall. Like all the falls in this neck of the woods Pa/NJ, the amount of waterfall is predicated on the amount of winter/spring rain.

I have taken a zillion photos of the falls with my Nikon cameras experimenting with various settings. I shoot raw images and usually with manual mode setting. There were several opportunities to be at the base of the falls with no one around. One advantage of being retired is that I could pick a weekday while most people are working. Best to use a tripod and slow those exposures down to get special streaming effect of the water.
By the way, you can take the path to the top of the falls and beyond to pick up the Appalachian Trail. Also, the falls is near the Walpack Inn which is only open for Friday and Saturday weekend dinners and Sunday lunch. The excellent food and atmosphere is well worth it.
